A sleep place for the beach or where ever. Interesting concept but why not a small camper instead?

Recipies – ACTIVATING YOUR DRIED SOURDOUGH CULTURES
Bits and pieces. So much to learn about a (seemingly) simple process…
My starter does have the brown water on it so must be close anyway. Wondering if I should use milk the next time. Some say to and some say not to…
Jeff Varasano’s NY Pizza Recipe
This dude has a serious pizza jones! And I salute him for it. Am going to try again soon in my mud/brick oven. Last time I didn’t get the floor hot enough and they kept sticking. The pieces that made it out were good but just not what I was looking for. May try a bit of coal next time to increase the heat. Though I was cooking loaves of bread in about 5 minutes last night after doing a stir and sweat number on the coals that were left after the fire was mostly out. Kept moving them around for a half hour or so which got the floor just about right for the bread so maybe that is what I need to do for the pizzas too.

Neat! Looks to me like you could use any large leaves just as long as they are still flexable.

Boing Boing: Man demands that book about book-burning be banned — during Banned Books Week
Interestingly enough, since he has made such an ass of himself by trying to get a book about burning banned books banned during banned books week, now the entire blogging world knows just what kind of narrow minded idiot he is…
GROKLAW – What SCO knew and when they knew it.
Sounds like the end of SCO’s little lawsuit. I hope the folks that fosted this travisty on us get spend quite a few years in prison in quiet contemplation on the stupidity of their ways.

Techdirt: And Just Like That, Bogus Piracy Stats Become Fact
The big problem as I see it is that there is such poor feedback/discussion when it comes to print media. The “reporter” says it, the paper prints it, and if it sounds good/bad then folks seem to believe it. And it gets picked up and repeated over and over. With the web, someone posts stupid stuff, folks from all over jump their ass and the facts come out. Feedback is critical but the print industry has had their own way for so long that they don’t want change. And why would they with the amount of power they have/had…
If after installing Kubuntu you are having a problem getting to the local network (Samba Shares) then follow the bouncing iBook (not really but several times I felt like it). 😉
Mouse over the bar with the Home Files and Personal Folder (Kicker Panel) and such in it, Right Click over an unused space and in the menu that is presented go up to Add Applet to panel. Once the window comes up, scroll down and highlite Network Folders and click on Add to Panel. It should put an icon with a globe with a network line at the bottem somewhere in the Kicker Panel. Once you find it click on it and if you already have the Samba Shares default name and password set, you should be able to see and access your local network.
Oh the hours and hair that this little nothing has cost me! So simple and yet so stupid to not include it in a default configuration.
On the iBook, wireless and able to access stuff off the other machines on the local network. Now if only Skype would make a version for linux on the ppc. 🙁
Been having fits trying to get skype to work under PCLOS linux which is (has been) my favorate distro. The push came today when I decided to move the iBook upstairs.
It’s starting to cool off a bit so is liveable up there again. Mom emailed me and said either get the last of the stuff or we call someone to take it away. So Sunday we moved the last bedroom suite over here and then Sunday night managed to get it all upstairs. Along with the recliner, sofa, coffee table, desk, desk chair, and book shelves its an apartment of it’s own. No reason the sit here with one computer in front of me and another looking at the back of my head so…
Decided to figure out why the mic wouldn’t work with Skype. Seems that at some point the folks at pclos moved alsaconf from the installed to the uninstalled list. With my sound card/motherboard oss doesn’t work. So no mic. Or something. Anyway, installed alsaconf and after a bunch of restarts and fiddleing around got it to work somewhat anyway. So now I can switch the laptop back to u/kubuntu and move it upstairs to use for whatever but a phone. Cause Skype doesn’t support linux on the ppc platform. 🙁
Here there be dragons and orges and trolls… 😉
