Inside the Mind of the Man Who Tried to Milk Linux

Just looking at the picture is enough to put me off wanting to have ANYTHING to do with him. Gotta wonder what he was thinking when that picture was made. And when he broke his mirror… 😉

Another new look

Yep, another one to try to get accustomed to. I saw this theme which is called Very Plain Text at Joey’s new site, The Adventures of Accordion Guy in the 21st Century, and it struck me as being just what I was looking for. Plain, simple, and something to let the content shine through. So after beating out a few dents and dings and modifying it here and there, here it is for your viewing pleasure. Or not. as the case may be.

Like it?

Hate it?

Some things make sense, others like this turntable don’t. Not saying that it’s not interesting and I’m sure that it sounds really good and all but really…

Judge Strikes Down Part of Patriot Act
A federal judge struck down parts of the revised USA Patriot Act on Thursday, saying investigators must have a court’s approval before they can order Internet providers to turn over records without telling customers.
U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero said the government orders must be subject to meaningful judicial review and that the recently rewritten Patriot Act “offends the fundamental constitutional principles of checks and balances and separation of powers.”

This is an interesting bike cart/carrier. And with a bit of conduit, a conduit bender, an old bicycle, 2 front wheels, and an arc welder I think something like this could be built in less than a day. Gonna have to spend some time collecting the bits together to make one. I could use this for moving just about everything under 250 pounds or so that I now have to use a truck for here on the farm and at no cost other than developing my leg muscles. Looks like time to get off my ass and at it…

The picture below is the third from the top at the link above. Wish there was more information on a lot of the pieces on this site. Interesting design the dude came up with. I’d still go with a larger rear wheel. And am planning on building a cart/carrier type bike but after seeing a couple of other designs I am gonna look at building the whole front carrier section out of conduit and a pair of front wheels. Got the bender and raw material so all I need is time energy.

Technology news » Learn python in 10 minutes.

Well first off you got to know how to program and have a bit of experience with other languages and second there isn’t any way you are gonna learn any language in 10 minutes. But this article will get you started with python and does a good job of getting the basics presented. Gonna have to spend some time rereading it. Probably a lot more than 10 minutes. 😉

Art: ‘Matrix Googles’ Probably Sounded Like a Good Idea at the Time – Gizmodo

Interesting video of the product. A serious acid trip without the drain bamage. Unsure what actual use there could be for this product however. Now with a bluetooth interface and computer interlace capability, you could do an enormous amount. Cool, but I still gotta wonder why…

Scytheconnection: Welcome

Located this site via a post at Treehugger.com. They have a lot of info on scythes, from how to use them to how to make your own handles. Guess I’ll pull that blade I had for sale at the yard sale tent, clean it up a bit and make a handle and some mounting hardware for it and start using it. Neat site!
