Doug Moe: Lake discovery is likely Truax jet
By Doug Moe
THERE HAS been a stunning development in the half-century-old mystery of what happened to a Truax Air Force Base F-89 Scorpion jet airplane that disappeared over Lake Superior on Nov. 23, 1953.
The plane and its Madison-based crew – pilot Felix Moncla and radar observer Robert Wilson – were never found. The F-89 had been dispatched to track a large unidentified flying object that radar had spotted near the U.S.-Canadian border, and the plane’s disappearance has been fodder for extraterrestrial theorists ever since.
It now appears the missing plane has been located.
Interesting. And still makes one wonder what it was that it hit. Now to go look at the rest of the stuff… 😉
Bruce Campbell villain
My Name Is Bruce
The movie’s plot is as natural as it is ingenious: Bruce Campbell (playing himself) is mistaken for his EVIL DEAD character, Ash, by the members of small Oregon town and is forced to fight a real monsters terrorizing the town’s inhabitants.
Article says maybe Feb 2007. Ought to be good.
Bubba Nosferatu (2006)
Plot Outline: This prequel to Bubba Ho-Tep finds Elvis shooting a film in Louisiana when he runs afoul of a coven of she-vampires.
If and when I want to see it. Loved Bubba Ho-Tep!
UNEASYsilence » Cyber sex can make you sick
This is funny as hell. Boy and girl are doing the you show me and I’ll show you thing via computer chat cam without having their heads in the picture. The dinner call comes and after getting redressed they come to dinner and see what the other is wearing and realize what’s happened. No exposed naughty bits but probably not safe for work.
DRM Smackdown Day is October 3. You In? – Gizmodo
I’m in but not just on October 3. I don’t buy ANY media/music/movies that I can’t use when/where ever. I probably miss out on a lot that way but I feel better about myself… 😉
With a form letter. Why didn’t they do that the first 2 times I sent this in. Or is this from the first or second complaint/plea for help. Here is the letter I got:

PS – I have now added a catagory just for Technorati since I have posted so much about it… 😉
TheDenverChannel.com – News – Men Get Six Months In Jail For Stealing Food From Garbage Can
Now we got garbage Nazi’s! Totally insane. 6 months in jail for taking food out of a dumpster. Wonder what they will be charged per day for their room and board?
Blair: Tackle troublemakers before birth – Europe – MSNBC.com
Has Blair gone completely nuts? I thought that there was some kind of check and balance in place to keep nutbags like this under control. Guess he’s either trying to out do or take the heat off of Bush. 1984 again and again…
MacSlash | Wal-Mart Threatening Studios Over iTunes
And once again greed (WalMart) is working to stop (even DRM restricted) freedom of choice. Asshats!
Went and deleted the feed at Technorati and redid the signup. They find the new post fine but are still showing that I haven’t updated anything in 47 or 48 days. And they don’t respond to the contact us thingie…
I suspect that it is all on their end as I am getting all of the other spiders but theirs. Have checked my robots.txt file and it is the same as the one at my Nero Wolfe site and they are getting new posts there within 3 minutes. Starting to piss me off!
BOFH: Out on the lash | The Register
Another Friday evening at the pub… 😉
Plans – A Good Web Calendar
If you need a web calendar this looks good. Haven’t tried it yet so YMMV.
Jake’s Kerosene Lamp & Lantern Workshop
Interesting site about collecting, making and repairing kerosene lamps and lanterns. He also has several other interesting sites.  One is where he is rebuilding an old schoolbus into a really fine camper. Another is on building bicycles. Well worth the browsing time if you are into this kind of stuff. Already linked to his water cooled computer pages. This dude is a serious junk lover and hardware hacker!
xkcd – A webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language – COMPLY

One might even call this sudo humor… 😉
Good stuff, many more in the archives at xkcd. Go, look, LYAO…
FYI – xkce’s RSS feed is http://xkcd.com/rss.xml
Science News Online
Another site that I wish had a RSS feed so I (and others) could subscribe. Good site with a lot of good articles.
MicroShop – Red Alt
This looks quite interesting. MicroShop is a shopping cart for WordPress with a paypal gateway built in. Been looking for something like this for over a year and just stumbled on it tonight.  Wasn’t even looking for a shopping cart! Have downloaded it and will try it later today. If it works like I think it will then guess I get to redo several sites that I thought were finished… Mainly cause WordPress will be easier to use for small sales sites, both to setup and to maintain than ANY of the ecommerce programs I have used and tried to use. They are just too complacated for anyone but a geek to setup and run and they want way to much info on each item. /rant
More after I try it… [Does a happy dance when no one is looking]
