Mystery illness strikes after meteorite hits Peruvian village

Shades of Stephen King! That was one wicked hard impact. Wonder if it was something from the meteorite or something boiling out of the hot ground that caused the problems?

Well, considering that much of Peru is a good bit above sea level, I would say that the chance of something that is still big enough to do damage making it to the ground is better there than most places. A lot of speculation online about satellites, boost stages with fuel remaining (and rocket fuel is pretty universally nasty stuff) or sulfur from either the impactor or the ground. Just glad it didn’t hit here….well, it would be nice to have a few hundred pounds of meteor to sell, but with my luck it would take out the house…
