Shedworking: Cody Studio

Rather interesting design. I like the green roof and chains directing the water runoff from the gutters. Simple and effective.

Navajo Nation to Lose Internet Signal

I would post something about the above link but the information contained in it will go away in 15 days because it is an Associated Press feed and the copyright statement that they use on every one of their stories that I have copied and pasted below says I can’t.

© 2008 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.

You’d think that by now they would see it would benefit them to use a less restrictive license so folks would point to and talk about their stories but I guess when the company is run by the bean counters the bottom line is everything.

Anyway to get to the point of this too long gripe, because of this I don’t and won’t post any links to any story by the AP.

Oatmeal cancer claim questioned

Makes me wonder which other breakfast cereal company(s) are lining his pockets.

Are you using Firefox 3? (Scripting News)

Just read your post and am downloading it now. Thanks for the heads up.

Update – Can’t run it on the Mac as I am still using 10.3.9 due to Apples stupid DRM in later versions of the OS. Guess I’ll need to boot the linux box and try it there.

spacetoday.net: Ares 1 vibration worries eased

Uh, yea. The vibrations aren’t strong enough to cause problems but they are looking into shock absorbers both on the engine and even on the seats. If the problems are severe enough for the seats to need vibration damping, what is gonna be the effect on EVERYTHING else thats on board? Something tells me that there is more to this that they are trying to gloss over.

The links to newspaper articles give a LOT more info on both the problem and the proposed solutions. Seems the same general type of oscillations caused one of the early unmanned Saturn V test rockets to fail.
