Downtime

Been mostly a day of taking it easy. Lots I needed to do but didn’t get done. Guess I over did it this weekend. Hoping to get some of it done tomorrow but will depend on how I feel. Will see when it gets here. Till then…

Well, the refresh the page trick worked this time when I got on the login merry-go-round, so here I is. I spent some time blowing up and recovering my newly updated computer yesterday. Made a goof with GRUB, and had to run fixmbr to get Windows running again. PCLinuxOS is nice, but drove me absolutely CRAZY trying to install a printer–CUPS wasn’t installed correctly, and nothing I could do would correct it. Then I tried installing Puppy on the partition(s) that PCLOS had created and things didn’t work out. Got called away after I recovered the Windoze partition and was not able to get back to it till late, so I left it be. I have FINALLY learned (crossing fingers here) that when it gets late, DON’T start anything big and bold, and leave well-enough ALONE. So I did, and so I have a functioning computer this morning, even if it IS Windoze. In a week or so I should be able to do some more. And No, that is not an exaggeration, this is Graduation Week and End of School Week and there are things going on 24/7, it seems. Got to go finish a setup at the high school, got to rerecord a video off a computer, have to swap several computers around and start building another machine–just another normal late-May week. Ah, I love the smell of late May, it reminds me of…..PANIC!!! Sheer, unadulterated, PANIC!!! Not so much on my part, but in a lot of places. Me, I’ll get done what gets done, and that is that.

And on that note, dear ones, I bid adieu and hope that today is better than yesterday for you….
