This makes a LOT of sense.  I have wondered for years why this type of ocean transport wasn’t more common. Guess the tech is catching up.

Reconnx, Inc. :: Introducing the Nail Kicker NR101-V1

Now this is one COOL tool!  The price is a bit steep for me right now, but as soon as I can figure a way to afford it, I am gonna get one of these suckers.  From the video it seems to take one shot most of the time to remove a nail from a board.  The recycling community should be eating these things up if they work as advertised.  Wonder how it will do on pallets?

LOVE the KDE disclaimer!

(Disclaimer)

They may not work. They may not even install. They may make your monitor explode in a shower of glass. EVEN LCDs! They may make your children grow horns, and cause the people in your neighborhood to explode spontaneously while doing the Macarena. They will rip out your eyeballs, and eat your soul with a really dull spoon, laughing and cackling while forcing Cheerios up your nose. They will make your intestines explode in a rain of confetti, while evil clowns bite your feet.

Shades of Sci-Fi!  I’ve read several stories over the years that delve into something simular.  Still got to read the paper.  Interesting stuff for sure!

Techdirt: European Newspapers Look To Reinvent Robots.txt

Tis plain that these folks have no grasp on standard usage of robots.txt.  You don’t want the page/site indexed just put it in the damn robots.txt file and forget it.  The spiders respect that file IF it is written right.

Session Manager :: Mozilla Add-ons :: Add Features to Mozilla Software

If you use Mozilla and use multiple tabs/windows and have had the experience of having the browser quit on you, then not remembering what tabs were unread even after digging through history, then this is for you.

This extension adds a tool to the tool menu called Session Manager.  If the browser crashes or you quit or close the main window instead of just the tab, when you restart you have the option of selecting from the last X # of sessions. Option is set to 1.  I have mine set at 3 just to see how it does.

Another feature is closed tabs memory.  With this little gem an incorrectly closed tab is only a Tools Menu > Session Manager > Closed Tabs click away.  Preset option is 10 closed tabs and this seems reasonable to me so I left it as is.
Check out all of the options after install to enable Sessions Manage and set your prefs.

So far seems very stable. Don’t note any speed difference. Will have to try it with a couple of days worth of tabs and see how it does.

In my opinion this extension should become a part of the standard distro. A must have!

Happy birthday Steve!

Hope you have/had a good one!

The monthly War is over, now to recover

By , September 23, 2006 11:33 pm

Has been a long few days but am back among the blogging. War is over and masses were fed without misshap. Or not many problems.

Today has been spent in front of and over fires and I am SO glad it’s done and yet strangely enough still looking forward to the next one. Fed 30+ as near as I can tell. They ate 35 burgers, 30 hot dogs, 3/4 gallon of baked beans, 2 pounds of potatoes, 1 pound onions, one pound carrots, 30+ hamburger buns, 25+ hot dog buns, many sodas, 10 pounds ice, 1 pound assorted sliced cheese, 1 pound chips, assorted biscuts & cornbread & bread, 1/2 gallon chilli, and many pickle spears…

Much more was put in the freezer for eating later. Next game I am gonna figure on more meat and less vegatables. Also need to get more chairs and look at building a LARGE eating area/feast hall.

Had several compliments on the food and site. Several said that it was one of the best maintained sites they had ever played at. One of my/our next goals is to see about clearing for and building additonal buildings/objectivies. throughout the property.

Long day done. 1220 posts in my feed reader too catch up on but as storms are due later tonight and tomorrow will close for now and try to get some much needed rest before they hit…

So one woman gets a boob job and then another one feels her up.  By an uncovered window.  Weird and somewhat humorous but the bit in the can with the two guys is LOL funny… 😉

So he was fired for the attitude of his email, then rehired but doesn’t get paid and is gonna do it?  Guess he likes what he was doing.  Be damned if I would go back without a raise in pay…

UNEASYsilence » Zack Kim – Super Mario on two guitars

This is amazing!  Guy plays two guitars at the same time.  Got one of them them clamped/mounted on a stand and the other on a strap around his neck, one hand on each, plays them together and does some interesting picking.  Go to his website for some other fantastic stuff!

Session Manager :: Mozilla Add-ons :: Add Features to Mozilla Software

Just installed this and am hoping it works as advertised.  Am more than a little tired of having Firefox quit and loosing a ton of tabs that I havn’t gone through yet.

Ubuntu one day later

By , September 20, 2006 2:26 pm

One of the main things I need on the iBook is Skype and it doesn’t seem to work under Ubuntu.  I’ve downloaded 3 different packages now and none will work.  So, for now I am back with OS X running from the external harddrive at least while Cat is out so I can get calls from her if necessary.  Will switch back and try some more when she gets back.

Still trying to find where I saw how to get the full uncastrated version of KDE working in Ubuntu and having no luck.  Saw it yesterday somewhere but who knows where… 🙁

Also need to find where/how to get the email from the mac hard drive into Ubuntu.  Done several searches on both google and yahoo and still no joy.
Another bad day body wise.  Course when I get this way the mind doesn’t work right either. Energy level is so low I am having to watch my breathing and force the bod to breathe extra deep about half the time.  Bout all I know to do is to hope tomorrow is better.  Time for a time out…
