Saturday in the house
Been one of those days. Got a bit done on the computer but nothing else accomplished. Haven’t even finished going through the pile of books from yesterday and getting the rest of the stickers off and books sorted. Oh, well tomorrow is another day. Till then…
Had another day of the expected, the unexpected, and the in-between. Finished up a computer I was working on (replace a borked hard drive and reinstalled Windoze), but later than I meant to. Meant to finish it Friday evening, but the weather mitigated against doing that. Hate to risk a lightning strike/power interruption, especially when almost done and with new hardware on board. Was going to finish it in the morning, but had to go to town for a couple of things. On the way back from town, had a very STRONG smell of gasoline about the vehicle a couple of times, so checked the fuel pump when we arrived back home. Yep, it was leaking. Or pouring might be more accurate. So, I did lunch and waited for the son to arrive home from work, and got him to carry me to get a pump. Had to go further than I meant to, because the one at the store in Jacksonville (the ONLY one at the store in Jacksonville-another store had one, but $10 more) had no gaskets. So, we went to Anniston plaza and got one. Came back and started the charcoal for the grill to cook the meat I had gotten at the store earlier (do you sense a sequential vortex coming on? I do…) and changed the fuel pump. Love the 22R engine when it’s time to change the fuel pump–right on top. Got it changed, cranked it up, did an “around the block” test run (which is 3 miles around my block) whilst giving the dog ANOTHER ride (he went to the parts stores with us also), then came back and got the grill going. THEN I finished the computer, called the owner, and went on with life.
Just another day, without a flaming engine, thankfully….we’ll see what happens today…
