And since tomorrow is supposed to rain I guess I get day off from this particular heavy physical activity and get to do other stuff inside.

At least the first 20 feet of it. Am going to bushhog the rest of the fence row prior to doing any more to make it easier to get to it.

Should discourage folks wanting to climb the fence and make them come to the open gate. Got the easy to access side fence replaced too.

Front fence from double gates south finished, or close enough. Have 2 strands of new barbed wire stretched tight at the top.

Guess I’ve procrastinated long enough. Time to get back over and finish as much of the fence as I can before dark runs me in.

And lunch is ready. Back later…

Hoping to get the worst of that bit that’s easy to get to and through done this afternoon. I think 5 posts and much wire will get that done.

to the front to be completely finished with it but tis reasonably secure now. Side fence is in sad shape and gonna take days I’m afraid.

Back from pounding posts and stringing wire for lunch. Got the front fencing mostly done. Still got 2 strands of barbed wire to add

Back from paying the power bill. Now to fuel the tractor and head over to pound posts and string wire. Not looking forward to either…

Coffee is now being consumed.

Tis morning and coffee is almost ready. Am moving, abet slowly. Up earlier than I wanted to be due to unwanted phone calls.

Not a spurts fan so, no stuporbowl here… Just finished supper. Starting to get feeling back in feet and able to move hands better.

In a hole 4 + feet deep. And I am totally worn out. And beat. Bushed. Exhausted. Not to mention quite chilled and still dripping sweat.

Worked hard all day and got ONE post in the ground. But the post was a 10 feet long, 16 inches across section of telephone pole.

Lunch is now history. On the way back to the cedar thicket and then to dig a deep hole…

Just checked the survey map and that fence section is 307.7 ft long. But the map was made before the road moved so figure another 15 ft.

Waiting for it to get on the table now. Looks like I’m gonna have to add posts and barbed wire along the entire side fence.

Located some downed trees that should work, cut a path to them and then severed them. Twas time for lunch so came back to eat.

Carried T-posts, wire, post pounder, and shovels to fence and unloaded them. Then to the cedar thicket to find new corner post and braces.

Along with the boom, assorted implements of destruction, chainsaw, pole hole digging shovels w 9 ft handles, field wire, and 100+ ft cable.

Cleared more of the side fence to discover it was/is down in several places. So more work to do. Got 20+ T-posts loaded on the trailer.

Got the brush cleared down the side fence far enough to sight a line. Dug down about a foot and found the remains of the corner post.

Gray overcast day so far. Forecast shows sun by midafternoon, along with mid to high 40’s temp wise. Will see when it gets here.

Tis morning and coffee is done. And so is the first cup. Fingers not complying with brain yet though.

Twas quite good. Will be making it again, as well as cooking other dishes with couscous. Seems a very versatile pasta.

Smells good. Hoping it will turn out the same. Used canned peas rather than frozen too. First time using couscous so hoping it works out.

Supper finishing up now. Trying something new. Added chicken to the recipe http://busycooks.about.com/od/seafoodrecipe1/r/skilletpaella.htm

All appears to be undisturbed at the storage site. Hope to get the corner post and fence replaced tomorrow.

Back from Calcis. Fire restarting now. Gonna go and check the storage trailer to make sure tis secure. Back in a bit.

Trying to get moving but brush cutting yesterday was not kind to hands and arms so meds have been taken. Waiting for them to kick in.

Tis morning and coffee is in hand. Another cold drizzly day but we gotta pack and head to Calcis to take a computer and other stuff.

Long day, and after all the brush cutting and fence repair/building, am more than a little tired. Heading to Calcis tomorrow so till later.

and it started working.

Still not sure how it works (Flowmaster toilet ball cock assembly) but after it sat for a couple of hours, put water pressure to it again

fix the one we have or if we’re gonna have to replace it. Took it apart and not sure how it works. Having a brain dead day… 🙁

on it. Got in and found the toilet cut off due to not shutting off. Need to find a breakdown on how the new valves work and see if I can

the fence tis in reasonably good shape. Got to make a trip to Calcis tomorrow so will most likely be Sunday before I can get back to work

Got all but about 30 feed of the barbed wire run and attached. Have several places I am gonna have to replace other barbed wire but overall

As well as no fence for 10+ feet in either direction. Now got to clear the other fence down a way so I can sight on it to set the corner.

Got the fence cleared to the corner. Where I haven’t been in several years. Where there is no corner post due to a long past wreck.

To clear the underbrush instead. Back in a bit…

With the ankle deep water I’m thinking it’d get stuck and then I’d spend more time digging it out. Guess I will use sharp cutting tools

Am stringing new barbed wire along front of fence now. Drizzle or not. Trying to decide if getting the tractor and bushhog out is possible.

Went over and found a pile of copper wire outside the back of the trailer and said wet marks on floor. Put up new No Trespassing signs.

Neighbors saw him and called the cops. Cops came and ran him down. Told him he was trespassing and to leave. I found out 4 hrs later.

Had an arsehat jump the fence and wander around the storage trailer including going inside, if the wet marks on the floor are an indication.

Been cleaning out my Gmail inbox. Have removed or archived somewhere around 1500 emails so far. Got another 2100+ unread… 🙁

Good Joy of Tech comic today! http://www.geekculture.com/joyoftech/joyarchives/1352.html

Looks like after this band all but the drizzle is over for us. Weathermen are saying the drizzle could be an all day affair. 🙁

Added an additional one on the other side to keep some sideways tension and got back in just in time for coffee and more rain.

Went out back and noticed one of the temp carports had a large puddle of water trapped in it’s top. Got it out and re-tensioned the bungees.

Tis morning, and the rain is done for a few minutes. Till the next short patch gets here. Coffee on and perking soon. I hope…

Feeling a bit better now. Guess I will see what to do for supper as we did need one or two more things for what I had planned on cooking.

and some cedar. Burning creosote smells like oak so really have no idea. Guess I need to change the angle on the pipe leaving the stove.

the flue after I swept the flue pipes yet again. Had quite a build up in them for some reason. Been burning dry oak, wild cherry,

Getting ready to go out into the chill rainy day. Got to go by my folks house to get some stuff and then to Wally World for other things.

Tis morning. With coffee. And rain. Didn’t beat the rain in getting up so no additional gravel and that I already got is still wet.

New post on comment spam. http://technoprimitive3.wordpress.com/2010/02/04/comment-spam-getting-better/

Tis late and I am hitting the sack, so till the morrow folks. 😉

Been a day. Tired out and then some. Hoping I can move tomorrow before the rain comes in so I can get another load of creek gravel in.

Have ladder rungs up one side but will be easier to do the work with it on the ground rather than me hanging off the ladder 20 ft up.

Going to have to put a spark arrester screen around the top of the flue. Will most likely drop the support tower to do the work.

Back from store. Supper cooked and eaten. Fire from sky outside window checked and nothing burning. Another flue fire which is NOT good.

Remembered we need to go to the store so am gonna do that instead. And a sigh of great relief is heard from assorted muscles… 😉

Gonna try for one more load tonight and then call it quits on that anyway. Back later…

Looks like we’ll need more like 9 or 10 loads that size. Or more. Got an old plastic fence panel and poured the gravel on it to drain/dry.

Figure the barrow full weighs between 5 and 6 hundred pounds, and at a guess, thinking we’ll need 5 or 6 of them to do the fill and cob.

First load of creek gravel pushed up here. Now to figure out how to dry it so I can bring it in to fill with. Don’t want to bring it in wet.

Time to clean out/off the rubber boots I set on the back porch earlier today after being buried in the rubble in here for months.

Thinking about going to the creek with the wheelbarrow to get a load of gravel to set the rock in with. Will need to dry so guess I need to.

First piece of tin screwed in place. Rocks and urbanite holding it tight at the bottom. Had to take a break from picking and choosing rocks.

Lunch done. Trying to find the energy to put the tin on the wall. However energy seems to be hiding very well right now.

Think I am gonna take a break and read a bit then eat lunch. Till later, folks…

The rock will give me a good start on the base for the heat storage bench for the Rocket Mass Heater. Slowly, slowly, eats the elephant.

Soon as the tin dries out will straighten the bends a bit and start attaching it to the studs. Then can pile the stone against it.

Will have to space the loft support posts out a bit but that’s probably for the good anyway.

Turned out I had two sheets of the old tin so can do the entire bottom of that wall rather than just the north end.

Guess I need to go out and get the tin to put up on the wall. After another cup of coffee that is…

Guess I’m gonna have to build it now that I see what my requirements are. 🙂

And yes, I know I could build a one off but I’d rather have one that would be reusable and work the way I want it to.

Breakfast done. Mustache waxed. 3rd cup of coffee by the keyboard. Now to see if I can find or build a service invoice I can live with.

Just realized I need to wax the mustache so I’m not drinking the coffee “through” it. Back after a quick waxing.

Some better this morning. Still not even close to 100% but only on second cup of coffee.

Think I am gonna call it an early(ish) night and hit the sack. So till tomorrow, folks… 😉

Hoping after the naps today I can sleep tonight. Sure feel tired enough. And if the rain keeps up for a while it should help.

Supper done. Still trying to find a easy to use OOo invoice for a service/repair shop. Tis proving to be an elusive critter.

Think I am gonna have to lay down for a bit and see if that helps. Back later.

Got to make a WW run in a few. Trying to get to feeling better first. Was fine till about 10 minutes into shopping at FoodLand and then yuk.

Back from the PO and FoodLand. Ended up with a LOT of chicken as well as a bunch of other stuff they had on sale. Sale prices well below WW.

Looking at sheep wagons this morning. http://www.anvilwagonworks.com/photos_sheepwagons.htm

Since the insulation and other work, inside is much warmer with less wood being consumed, which is a good thing!

Yea, got right cold out, had a low of 23.7F here in the valley. Or at least cold for here in east central Alabama.

Monday morning and ready for a second cup of coffee. Had a nice hard freeze last night. Wet ground is spewed up and frozen solid.

Medium long day, so am gonna call it a night. Till tomorrow, folks… 😉
